Buyer Obligations
All SoDel Puppy owners agree to:

Have their dog examined by a licensed veterinarian within three business days after bringing the dog home

Ensure that their dog is always cared for both physically and emotionally, including by providing proper shelter, food, water, exercise, grooming, human contact, stimulation, training and protection from bodily harm.

Maintain preventative health care of the dog including but not limited to: inoculations, internal and external parasite prevention as recommended by your veterinarian.

Maintain preventative care of the dog in regards to proper nutrition, using high quality premium dog food, proper exercise, preventing stress injuries (i.e. not allowing the puppy to jump from heights taller than itself at the shoulder, etc) and maintaining proper body condition score.

Never leave the dog solely in a backyard or kennel or cage. The dog will be allowed to spend substantial time in the home with family members. The dog shall become a member of the family. This is to assure the proper development and maintenance of the temperament for which the animal was bred.

Taking care when socializing young puppies to minimize the risk of contracting infectious diseases such as parvovirus or kennel cough. Encourage puppies to play with healthy, vaccinated adult dogs known to have pleasant temperaments, such as those owned by family members and friends at your home or theirs, and with healthy vaccinated puppies in well-run puppy classes. Avoid public spaces with dogs of unknown health status (e.g. pet stores, dog parks) until the puppy is fully vaccinated.

Train the dog using at least a balanced training method protocol and preferably a positive reinforcement protocol.

Ensure their dogs microchip is kept up to date with current contact information.

Have their dog receive a veterinary exam at least once per year.

Seek immediate veterinary care in the event of sickness or injury.

Unless otherwise agreed with SoDel Doodles, have their dog spayed/neutered at an appropriate age for the breed and based on consultation with their veterinarian.

Keep SoDel Doodles informed about any physical or behavioral health problems that arise in any dog obtained from SoDel Doodles, especially health problems that are known to be heritable or that have unknown causes.

That under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will buyer sell or trade or release the dog to any animal shelter, rescue group, pet shop, wholesaler or broker for any reason whatsoever. If buyer should ever, regardless of the reason or circumstances, find themselves in a situation in which the dog cannot be kept, the buyer will notify SoDel Doodles so that SoDel Doodles can provide a loving home for the dog until they can be placed.

Notify the breeder of any change of address and/or phone number for their records.

Keep in touch with SoDel Doodles and send us lots of pictures! This one is optional but highly encouraged!
